exactly. well said clix.. to many leechers on this forum out to make quick buck only and shaft others over.. and we know that there are alot of dpers here waiting for next thing to be said so they can publish as their own work..
 
I like the idea of implanting a selfdestruct code in my pdfs, I could even go to .exe format for my ebooks and do this with little to no extra work.

Why not? Is there an ethic about blackhat? I have read a post at syndk8 forums which was saying "report other blackhat webmasters if they are running in your niche. By this way you can get better ranking...." here is the link

Have you looked at Activ Ebook Compiler? When they run the ebook for the first time, it generates a "request code" based on computer hardware info, then they have to manually request (via email) an "unlock key" from you that matches up with their request code. The software comes with a key generator program that uses your secret phrase (which is also built into the ebook you distribute) + their hash key to generate their key. Tedius, since you have to manually send out everyone's codes, but should put a big damper on sharing -- unless someone actually takes the time to crack the security on your ebook (doubt it)... It may also be a pain for Mac users, since it's in .exe format, but to hell with them! lol. Anyway, I may have a copy of the software laying around somewhere ;)
 
i use the ebookgenerator version 3 and l just love it when people buy the products then go for a quick canel , l want my money back with paypal, l would love to be a fly on the wall when they spark the ebook up to read after they have cancelled only to find it nonger works and they have been deleted.
 
I should have thought about protection. Just yesterday, I sold a credit card site script of mine to someone. I programmed in AJAX, the code is a bit complicated, but I used to sell the site with the script already installed on it, so np. Just realized today that the guy is reselling it somewhere else, just changing the template and graphics to make them look different. Makes you mad
 
i started using http://www.secure-ebook.com/ for my ebook and it seems pretty good, it only activates once per hardware key, so if the book gets moved to another computer, it cant be opened. but it only works for pcs as its an .exe
and its really good as people can redistribute the .exe as much as they want, it shows however many pages as a sneak peek of the book and then they can buy the code to unlock the rest of the pages.

Well I'm not a fan of EXE books. PDF is a standard now isn't it ?
 
I dun think its just the DPers... I think its those bastard who came in here and steal our members stuff and sell it on DP for a profit.....The DPers are the dumb and dumber who do buy anything that smell like Moolah to them...... I came from DP too, I was one of those who chases empty dreams and promise there, but i grew up. I believe many of you are from there or used to be from there but outgrew from there. I think cashcorp should give the mods here the ip add of those two scheming asshole and ban them from coming in here.

P.S I fell in love with here, but hey I am still a toddler here......

how about saving each page of ebook as a jpg with watermark behind the text on each page, then place the pages into PDF and sell it that way. That way the only way to copy the text it is to retype it and all DPers are too lazy to do that
 
I hit 3 weeks & 25 posts on DP only to realize what a bunch of no-hopers they were. I swear to god 50% of the posts on that forum are asking for a free review copy.
