Hello,

I've taken on creating a eCommerce site for a client. They host at freeparking and I've never experienced a host like this before.

Right now I have access to the FTP. The only folder there is: www

I've done ftp installations of WordPress before but there is no public-HTML here nor is there a MySQL in the control panel... or anything else.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you in advance

Freeparking is for parking your domain only, if I'm not mistaken. You can only get up to 4 pages for their offer of free website, which can be done using their online tools. Inform your client to get a real webhost.

^^That last comment makes sense.
Of course there doesn't NEED to be a public-html folder, all the website files could be in WWW.

However, not having an SQL control panel is the clincher - that probably means you don't get any SQL databases with that hosting package.
You could confirm that from their support, but look slike you are going to have to move the site to another host WITH sql capabilities.

parking could be means just domain parking like at Sedo. You either get to have a html page or they put page with ads. So your client need a real web hosting account paid or free. You might able to use the place just for files and host Mysql database in other place. But if he/she has money to hire you then probably can afforded $5 a month for hosting.

always do the wordpress installation from the cpanel or plesk panel because their are lots of execute, upload permission which wordpress needs for different folders and files. This will be disturbed if done from ftp.

You have to install manually.

Upload your wp script to the hosting.

For the mysql, maybe you need to create it manually.

if I not mistaken, try look for phpMyAdmin.

Hello,

Thanks for al the replies, its all sorted. Turns out it was on a Windows server so there was no hope. Got the client to take out a new hosting plan with a much more reputable company.
