FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE USING PAYPAL

I checked 2CO facebook earlier, doesn't look good at all. Also, 25$ fee for a 2$ transaction chargeback... better doing nothing.
I think that's your problem. Too many charge backs and PP go nuts. It is a known fact. To make the account stealth start withdrawing all money into your bank account and spend through card. Money laundering is a big issue with PP and many governments are going behind PP to give data. By transfer to and fro from your bank account you are a clear customer for PP and they need not worry about money laundering issue as you are leaving a clear trail. Else buying/selling/transferring from PayPal balance is a huge invite for money laundering, my 2 cents & I am out.

There seems to be no reliable option apart from Paypal currently. 2Checkout chargeback fees are too expensive in my point of view. But then again, it really depends upon the type of product that you are selling and if chargeback rate is high. In op case, digital products have a higher chance of chargeback. I am not sure about OP but I own an OEM software retail outlet and accepting only Bitcoins as payment mode. Liquidated through localbitcoins.

Lost a lot of sales as I am using limited option for payment but the price of these softwares entice customers to go through the hassle for paying through bitcoins. So at the end of the day, it is worthwhile in my point of view.

Mind sharing your % loss in sales? Genuinely curious. I'm sure it varies by demographics and such.

Yes, generally about 20%-30% sales are lost as a result of payment processor. But these are usually new customers who do not trust yet. OEM softwares depends alot upon pricing. As buyers are usually willing to pay $5 for a software that cost $70+ for the retail version. Thus they usually do not mind the hassle of using bitcoins. And for repeat customers, they are the easiest to work with and always ready to pay through BTC.

Thank you.

Your audience is likely relatively young and very technically savvy. Something tells me that my numbers would be closer to the 90% loss range (older and not very intelligent).

But good to know. Appreciate the response!

The only 'fixing' you can do is to start fresh.

Once PayPal makes a decision to permanently limit an account, that's it.

I'm all to aware of how PayPal treats it's users.. :)

I do not collect the demographic info as privacy is much valued by my customers. But you maybe right on the age group. Nevertheless, I do write up guides on how to exchange for BTC through localbitcoins. The process is actually quite easy. You do the bank transfer to a designated account and the BTC will be release from escrow within 30 min. Simple and easy process.
