Hello,

A few quick questions:

Who earns more money? Front-end or back-end developers?
Do companies pay more for front-end or back-end developers?
As freelancers, who earns more money? Back-End or Front-End developers?

Currently Front end is paying better. But its hard to generalize and depends on a host of factors.

It's the same. Can't work one without the other. Any product needs both

Back end pays better, but front end is pretty close. It depends on too many factors honestly. If you're good you will make more than if you're not, so get good and don't worry about what pays more, just do what you like more.

PS it also depends on location, USA pays better than pretty much anywhere else on average for tech work, especially if you're in FAANG or a pre-ipo startup (think AirBNB, Snowflake, ect).

Depends on your skills. Front-end pays like 20€ in Germany if you are not as dumb as a boris johnson.

Back-end pays almost the same. Even though, Back-end is easy. I love Javascript but its much more to do with UI/Design of a Website/Webservice. In my opinion, thats much more annoying to do and takes longer (but if there is a designer, you may not need to do it by yourself).

Instead of asking what pays more? Ask to you, what do I like more?

It depends on a lot of factors. There are more "rare" backend positions that will pay more (AI, Blockchain related currently)

I'd go with back end any day of the week.

Pay itself mostly depends on your skill level though

I know this doesn't answer the question directly, but when I was looking full-stack was pretty demanded. The pay seemed pretty equal for front and back but more experienced is most likely better paid.

The country, company, your experience and the way you solve problems will be important factors.
