Hi My honorable friends,

I’ve spent the better part of 25 years in the education sector. Whether I was teaching in a classroom or designing curriculum for institutions, one thing always remained true: you cannot skip the fundamentals.

When i shifted my focus toward SEO, Honestly I noticed that many people treat it like a 'get-rich-quick' scheme. They jump straight to link building or AI content without understanding the core of how information is structured, researched, and presented.

In my experience, the principles I used in education—structured research, building authority through trust, and catering to the 'student's' (or user's) intent—are exactly the same principles that build a website that lasts.

I’m curious to hear from the experts here: What is the one 'old-school' principle you still follow in your SEO strategy today that most people seem to ignore?

Looking forward to your thoughts

One old-school principle I still stick to is understanding search intent before touching content or backlinks. A lot of people rush the technical side, but if the page doesn’t genuinely answer what users are looking for, it rarely lasts long-term.

understanding search intent before touching anything else still works better than most shortcuts.

it is very simple : the most overlooked thing is people forget that they need to know their audience before creating content. Algos change, but keeping your intent to value what your user is looking for will never get old.
