As Google gives you a little boost for having https, It should bounce back to #2 or even #1 within a week. I've seen it happen with one of my client's sites recently while migrating from http to https. Google sees http and https as different sites as like www and non-www. Just make sure both http:// and http://www. are redirected to the https:// version.

PM me if you need any help/assistance.

5 days is usually not enough for 301 to jump in . Take your time, relax and check the results in next couple days :)

Google considers https a different site from http.

Maybe your SERP tracker does the same?

I had a client go apeshit on me, while his https site was ranking fine, just the http had disappeared (as planned).

This. Bartosimpsonio has a point. Perhaps you should add the https version of your site to your rank tracker as well and compare the results with the http version.

I just checked my 301 redirect, and i saw that only main page is being redirected to https
    but not other pages
any idea how to fix this?

I use this code to redirect
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    </IfModule>
    Options +FollowSymLinks
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteRule (.*) https://www.****com/$1 [R=301,L]

I it happened to me before, site lost rankings after switching to HTTPS, ranking NEVER came back .. however I have to mention that the link profile was not totally clean (the site could be penalized) so it could be a coincidence

I tried to restore the HTTP format of the site later but that did not help

The lost rankings are definitely not because of the spammy links. Switching your website from http to https has the same effect as doing a 301 redirect to another new/expired domain. With all the experiments I have done in the past and still continuing to do so, a site's ranking that has been tanked by penguin can be resurrected by simply 301'ing the penalized domain to a new domain. It'll bounce back to the same position for a while or until the search index is refreshed. It should have the same effect on your site too before the https version also gets penalized. It could be the panda algorithm kicked in and penalized your site for having dupe content where in fact it could be the simple misconfiguration with your http to https redirect.
