Hi Black Hats,

After a while of thinking I remembered about a that people who keep their ideas to themselves don't succeed as they are not putting it out there. So here am I putting my idea out there. It's nothing new and quite common I guess, but I'm here to learn and get advice from members that have reached success and can share tips.

About Me

I'm 20yo, had my failures and small successes in business so far, nothing worth pointing out, just that I have been always interested in business and been thinking about it and doing it since I can remember. Of course I have a day job at this time to support my lifestyle, but lets hope, this is a step forward away from it.
I completed a diploma in business and I am in my last semester in web design, so... its obvious that I should get into IM...
My real passion is not working on computer, but my goal is to create a online income that I can work on from anywhere on earth and not be forced to work for someone else (because I'm leaving my current location soon and the next year or so would be in various countries, not sure which yet thou...). These are my first steps towards my "bigger picture".

Currently I live in Australia. I'm always looking for the next opportunity so here what I will do now.

My Method

In Australia people pay for a service (won't tell you until I complete the site) that is easily accessible on fiver.
I know people will buy this because I have tried before simply posting ads on gumtree (local classified ads) advertising this service and they call and I would get about 10 enquires a week from which about 3 would move on to the service. And this was just putting one simple add in only one location in whole Australia.
I offered them to pay when the service is done and they are 100% happy.
Even when they where happy they always disappeared and I never got payment.. pissed me off..

I decided that I have to have a site where I can charge them right away while they are searching and they are in the mindset of spending money on the service not 5 days later.

This time I'm doing everything neatly and approaching more serious then before.

The Preparation

Website

I need a good looking, professional website, I'm charging on avg. about 50% less then competitors, because well... fiverr..
I'm working on the site right now and connecting all PayPal links and making sure everything works and looks good.

For website I'm using hosted wordpress.
I already have hosting and domain registered, will register DOTcomDOTau domain in the next few days to be more appealing for Aussie market.

Emails

I created emails for all big cities Adelaide, Broom, Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Darwin and one Main that I will use for contact us ext.
I did this because I will advertise to start off in gumtree and gumtree doesn't allow me to post in every big city in the same section from the same account.

So I need one account for every city, hence all the emails.

Gumtree (first advertising location)

Using the emails I created before I now registered 8 gumtree accounts.
Because gumtree doesn't allow me to post the same sales description for every post, I have to write 8 sales descriptions that are different.
I will do some research and write in the same style my competitors write in the specific city.

File Keeping
What I have learned from my previous failures is to keep all files and everything neat and tidy and easily accessible.
So I'm keeping everything nice and together, folders for each city, articles and example photos. I'm using drive for this, also I have connected all my emails for the drive and also all incoming mail is forwarded to my Main email.

Questions I have

  1. I'm new to IM, what would be the tips you can give me to make people trust my site and buy the service there?
  2. SEO tips to target Australians?
  3. Anyone can share their experience offering fiver services (I have read about that before but someone my relate to me maybe?)
  4. How else would you recommend me advertising? I have before had ads on local newspapers (suburb) it costs about $120 to advertise in two issues and every house hold has one dropped at. (for this I know you need to know my niche but maybe have some tips anyway?)

Summary

Like I said before this is my journey to create online income. I don't know what you will think about it but I thought if I can share my journey and get some tips on the way I'm already a winner because learning new things I believe is the best outcome.. of course a fat bank account is also nice.

Will keep writing here what I do and share my experiences and difficulties. Not promising to keep you updated daily or anything in that mater as I do get angry at the whole thing and I find it better to just switch off and work on something else till I can get back on track whit cool head.

I recon my website should be done in the next 2 days then I could get some review and tips from you more experienced IM's!
I could also share it in PM's with the ones genuinely interested in helping a noobie like me.

Looking forward for your tips!
Cheers Black Hats!

So today I semi completed my site and posted in 2/8 Big Cities on local classified ads.
In the last hour I had 6 visits for my site...yes not a lot... I have had the ads on for 1 hour, but I have my first client signed up already.

Total Sale Price: $150
Profit: ~$100

Pumped for my first client in such a short time.

6 visits, but very targeted because they all are searching for this service on gumtree...(local classified ads)
Gonna finish writing for the rest 6 cities and see how we go tomorrow.

OP, this sounds like a great idea. I will take action on this. I needed something extra to do with my proxies besides Pinterest.

Thank you, yeah this definitely can work out well if you do it smart. As I mentioned before I want to work in the Aussie market when I leave Australia to earn a good income.

The client I got yesterday has made the payment :clap2:

Today I got one more client $75
I still haven't posted in every city on gumtree now only 5/8 and only 1/2 ads.
I will test with the times I post the ads and the content it seems that KISS (keep it simple stupid) works the best because both are from one area where the ads was very simple..
Regarding the times I will post 1 ad in the middle of the day when I expect my target market would be online and one in the afternoon.

Total visits for the site : 9
Total sales: 2
Sales $ Total: $225

Profit Aprox.: $150
(I allow my clients x amount of revisions ext.. so the profit may go lower by $5-20 but still quite good for my 2nd day!

Gonna get a nice logo designed today and buy comDOTau domain and post in all 8/8 big cities, also will check out some smaller towns that have big populations and could be targeted...

Though there doesn't seem to be much clearity on what exactly your journey is about, you seem to be in a very targeted niche. Making a sale everyday with 5-10 visitors!

good luck op, maybe you can try and get your existing clients to refer your services to people they know, entice them with 10 percent off or something. im thinking of doing something similar for my offline business.

I would suggest you the same once you both build trust...

Yes I suppose the niche is targeted. I'm quite bad in the niche finding, I just saw something that I can do better and offer a better price for it. My journey is about my first steps into IM and making something out of it.

Yes, I'm thinking something about that and how to implement it the best way!

this seems good. i suscribe, good luck mate

Cheers mate!

Yes, thanks I will definitely look into a good way to do this.
I'm thinking connecting with some businesses and offer them commission on every client they send to me.
I would achieve this by offering their clients 10% of + the business 10% in total 20% off but still I get more clients.

Would need to add some coupon plugin. Any Suggestions?

Also was thinking that I could send out a letter of thanks with to the client for using my service just to get that good will up...

Would any of your Gumtree accounts have the name joseph perhaps? If so you should sign up for the host gator affiliate program. They pay $50 per signup.

No, that's not me, but this made me thinking that I should try to find something like affiliate for businesses that my clients would be interested in. I'm quite sure that I would find something.
Thanks for giving me the idea!

Update:Since my first two clients I have been working on the site more then advertising since these first two clients gave me some budget to start working with. Revenue: 220 Profit: 115I found a bit more expensive outsourcers but I believe well worth it as it will make my service more professional. Gonna look to maybe hire someone from freelancer instead fiverr.. would probably get my costs lower, as I have to order quite a few gigs... Balance: 115Expenses: Logo Design (1st attempt) 5Oxiracetam (Nootropic) I want to give this a shot to improve my performance after reading a post here about hacking the brain (real interesting its somewhere in the journey section) 35Premium Theme 15Total: 55Left: 60When I will be done with my sites upgrade I will write up a good sales add and buy the premium on gumtree ads for $40, I expect 4x more views. Also started contacting companies to get commission from sending them clients, but they all are stingy, need to find individuals that do that. Also will post a free add on local newspapers. I'm still thinking should I put a phone number on the adds and site as it would give more trust and give me some momentum and clients in.. but this would screw up my plan by having online only income...Also can anyone give me tips on how to target advertising? The information I collect from my clients I know a lot about them.. How can I use this for my advantage?

My first week is almost over.

Can't say I have been actively advertising the service as I knew something needs to be changed on the site but didn't know exactly what...
Today started upgrading my site with some features and more lively feeling, otherwise it was too corporate and for my niche I need something in the middle.

I also received my first batch of nootropics - oxiracetam, I read about them in tread - hacking the brain (search it it's really good).

To the ones who know what it is:
I can't really tell when it kicks in or anything as I feel the same, I did hope for some sorta kick that would indicate that its working.. But I did read that for some people it takes 7-14 days to really start the effect. However the tasks for my site I normally hate where done in a record time... Placebo?...

Anyway, I still need to do bits and peaces for my site and then start advertising again.

Also there are a few other people that offer my service on gumtree so I'm thinking because I will have good looking site offer them to become a affiliate of mine.. (these people don't even bother writing proper content on their ads or add pictures ext. so if I get them under me less junk for potential clients to see...)

I will add coupon system as well and see if there are any good affiliate systems out there that I can set up.
I think I will have a big task ahead of me, because I want the coupon system and I probably will need some ecommerece plugin. Currently I'm just using buttons to paypal, that redirect back to sites contact page..
I'll see my options and decide on that later.

Reading this forum has inspired me and thought me so much in such a little time.
Just to reflect on the things I have gotten in the short time I'm here.

  • Motivation to build my site again and whoop I got my first sales because of that.
  • Learned about Nootropics and started using them (probably the one I'm most exited about)
  • Have learned so much new things about making a site better
  • Discovered new methods and already made first steps for them

Picking a niche you have passion for is essential...

Even thou I see my niches potential for profit if I put the work in it doesn't really pull me in as much as I would like to... And I keep looking around for something that would be more interesting for me...

I haven't done any much marketing since I launched the site and put the ads on local classifieds.
I keep getting 5-10 people visiting my site per day, a few potential clients, but I need to work on my professional skills.

For the last few days I have had a though how I could make my site sell the the goods as DIY so I have nothing to do with the site just the occasional big order that requires my work.

I also want to set up a affiliate program so that I can try and get other businesses to give me some clients.

Overall the positive side is I started with not too good WP skills now I can cook up a nice site in few hours.
So even thou I have made some money I started this with goal to learn and learning I am!

I also just decided to experiment with a few more niches. At this moment I'll just post a few ads here and there to see if there is any interest.

I have thou 1. question

Is it possible to set up some sort of online phone. Lets say I am in Europe but I want to call Australians, but I want them to see that the ph. is Australian... If you understand what I mean is it possible?
