Has FB gone OTT with friend adding this week?

When creating new accounts i could send around 150 friend request on the first day no problem. I can't send more than 10-20 now, even manually without getting a warning?

Friend requests are to people from the same school/year

Surely if someone created a new account they'd want to add more than 10 of their friends?

usually its around the 40 mark. though it depends totally on the time between each add
 
No you are correct. Usually my first blast I can add 80-150 without issue. They're tightening, but probably won't maintain it.
 
i think its to prevent spamming,and they are more introduce even more restrictions

Well, of course. They don't want to go the way of MySpace... but there is a delicate line that these companies need to walk, and that's maximizing the difficulty of spamming Facebook while minimizing the impact of spam countermeasures on legitimate usability.

Once they start effecting the user's experience their efforts are counterproductive and thus they'll return to more sensible measures. Getting a warning after adding 10 friends to a new account is hardly sensible. And I assure you that a new Facebook user getting a warning after trying to add 25 high school & college buddies is going to be turned off by getting a warning for no apparent reason.
 
And what about groups? Can they take some measures if I send many invitations and PMs with the link to it?
