Hey all, just joined BHW, been reading for a couple weeks now trying to get my foot in the door in the IM world and where to allocate my resources. As with most I came into this with a "make-money-quick" mentality hoping to strike digital gold with minimal efforts. A rude awakening has prompted me to reevaluate my end goal and take an honest look into what I'm trying to accomplish. I'm a programmer by day and trying to get myself a good foundation in web design to provide some secondary income and to learn along the way. Been trying to narrow down a niche for myself as of recently and accumulate as many resources on the topic of IM as possible. Figured I'd say what's up and do the newb shout out for some initial resources to get me started and get the creative ideas flowing. Been tossing the idea of doing some design work for some local ecig shop websites and possibly starting a few blogs of my own on the topic as I'm an avid user myself. Is it really feasible to start with a landing page based strategy and work into blogs from there. I'm mostly stuck on where to begin. Much appreciation in advance, thanks guys. cheers

Professionally (due to my job) I program in .NET. Recreationally I mess around with python a good deal. Was hoping to put my decent scripting skills and object oriented background to good use whilst pursuing my adventure into IM. We'll see how it goes.

I'm a programmer also, but what I do is VERY different, and I'm sure rudimentary in comparison to what you and the other guys do on here lol

fourthdimension, welcome and in reading your post I see someone that came here in a similar way as I did, though I have no ambitions of being an IM expert. Message me at your convenience, I'm happy to do what I can to help you get off to a good start. I'm relatively new myself, and scored an infraction before I took the place serious, but quickly came inline and always good meeting new ambitious people. I
