French Seo Help

Hello guys,

I have been running a multi niche website in french for about a year now with no success. I have been applying the normal SEO strategies but with no luck. The most I have gotten so far is bottom first page with low volume keywords. I am wondering if any body have experience ranking french website. My assumption is that foreign language seo is less tougher than English one. Any help or advice?

What strategies are you using?

Language doesn't make a difference to how you market your business online, SEO or otherwise.

Search terms in other languages do have different volumes, and do have different competitors. Having used a lot of French sites, there is a huge opportunity to improve on other businesses and take their market share.

Your problem is more likely because you are multi-niche. You will be spreading yourself too thinly over many topics, so that it is unclear to Google what your site is about.

As a searcher, if you searched for "wine", would you prefer a site with 10 pages all of which are specifically about wine, or a general site of 10 pages with one article about wine?

Work out what the best topic is, then expand more on that topic. As you do so, take away the other content, or rewrite it so that is works in an angle to do with your main topic.

French Google is not as advanced as the US one, so you can rank with less quality stuff. However what you stated here won't get you anywhere ever in whatever market. Web 2.0s maybe, but even that is a longshot if you expect significant improvements from them. Try PBNs, guest posts and then we are talking.

I have ranked a lot of sites in french - foreigns sites n french in France too. Seo is the same work in french or english - but working in French is easer than english is a myth in hard niches. A multi-niche site is never the solution.

The main point is if you want to rank in FR, you need links from FR websites

French SEO has a LOT of opportunities yes...
