Stay away from Freenom and dot.tk (this is the same company). I registered couple of free domains there for one year. I used them for redirection my affiliate links. After 3 months one domain with highest traffic disappeared from my account and they put their ads on it. I found notice that my domain expired and i can't renew it. Second and third domain disapeared too and i found CPA offers on them. Fucking scammers, stay away from them guys!

Hey Op had same experiences as you with them, but Dr Byte is right, you cant expect that you will get everything for free, if you make decent money buy own domains its save you nerves and potential loss in future revenue.

That is actually genuineness at it's best if you ask me, because their is actually no scam taking place. You paid nothing and got nothing. I know that sucks you lost the time and revenue, I'm just pointing out that these types of tricks are what the big sites with big traffic use. Straight black hat.

I think freenom free domain has been discussed in this forum several times. I remember someone saying they diverge you traffic when it increases.
I use them for low scale, but always takes precaution when using them.
