Freemarket vs flippa

First of no, I'm not comparing the two because flippa is way more established and has a bunch more users in the market place. The other day I was browsing the Internet when I stumbled on free market which is freelancer's alternative to flippa and they allow you the list your website or domain for free and take a % commission vs flippa's $9 listings (still have the same up sell of highlighted posts and premium listings). I wanted to know your guys thoughts about freemarket if you had any and if you thought that eventually you could see it as a contender with flippa?

Freemarket all the way, i actually just made a post about this here :)

I have had allot of success selling sites which for some reason get no attention at all on flippa... in my blog post above i go shed light on some things which I believe will have Freemarket setting the new standard in marketplaces for 2016 :p enjoi

I believe Freemarket is even worse. I don't think they have enough buyers over there and to be honest Freelancer is doing a piss poor job of promoting it especially with the resources they have at their disposal.

Just took a quick look at Freemarket - out of the 4300 open websites listing only 5 listings has bids on them.

I noticed the same thing, not many buyers, mostly sellers wanting the free listing instead of Flippa's $9 fee. The thing is they could have lots of people there but as far as I can tell the only way they are promoting it is through a small section on warrior forum. Even on freelancer there doesnt seem to be a way or promotion to learn about the site which is quite odd as I would imagine they would have the capital for promotion to make it a solid contender. Interested in why they havent and what there goals are with the site.
 
don't even need to think about it ; flippa is best (I know flippa is full of scams theses days) but you have a big chance to sell on flippa rather than freemarket (where you probably won't sell your website even if it has traffic and earnings)
 
I recently listed two of my websites (Basically brand new starter sites) and ive got 2 bids, more just be my luck or the fact that most people on freemarket dont put their time into making a sales pitch or anything to increase the chances of getting a bid.
 
I think that the key is to promote your listing on warriorforum in your signature and post often on wf. I hope it will help.
 
Don't care much for freemarket. I feel that one is better to go with Flippa in this case.
 
I actually recently just sold all 3 of my listings, 1 for reserve and 2 for BIN. It was odd all the action came on the same day really close to the auction end.
 
Go with Flippa. Currently they have the most users/buyers . Others..are just a waist of time.
 
freemarket is full of trashy sites and no control I would stay away mostly people looking to scam with fake information on their listings
 
I have tried both, got to be Flippa just because of the size. Nothing will touch flippa as that's where the buyers go. As others have said freemarket is having a good attempt but they just don't have the interested buyers. Still always worth a go with nothing to lose
 
One thing of interest here is that the well established players in site-flipping are unlikely to jump ship and head to a new site as opposed to Flippa anytime soon. So the opportunity does exist to capitalize on the general lack of experience, knowledge, and/or promotional strategies of the folks hawking their sites over at Freemarket. While there aren't as many buyers as at flippa, they aren't particularly bright either, so it will be very easy for the right person to get in there and actually move quite a few sites a month.

At flippa you have a much more established website, seller base, and buyer base - so if you're site won't appeal to these types, there is a decent chance it might appeal to the less saavy and noobier user base coming from WF to Freemarket. The biggest thing though is to consider that Freemarket makes a big mistake by not charging for listings and only taking a fee. In these regards they will get what they pay for, and I wouldn't even think of buying a site from there since I imagine a lot of scammers are about to head on over. Right BHW?

Why not post on both? If you sell on Freemarket before Flippa then cancel your Flippa listing and save on the fee.
 
Flippa is #1 when it comes to scams.
