FREELANCERS do you even value your clients?

I've been in the online game for 10 years now and time and time again I've hired developers, designers, writers etc that at some point during a project start to ignore all forms of communication, or promise deadlines but fail to deliver.

Now don't get me wrong, I've hired many who have delivered on time and had very good communication.

I know everyone has a life but if I hire you for a project I expect the deadline to be met and you to fulfil your promises. It's really not much to ask.

Ignoring messages, emails, phone calls etc is just a cowards way in saying "I'm too shit of a freelancer to tackle the work you've given me".

THIS IS 2018, I can see you online on Facebook Messenger, I can see you read my email, I can see you are online on Skype and have read my message.

I know all these forms of communication also get sent to your phone immediately, and in this day and age you've probably seen it before I've even closed the browser tab.

So my question is to freelancers who do work for clients, are you fucking stupid? why ignore communication or make promises that you can't deliver?

I know damn well if I have to meet a deadline for my biz I'll cut off any distractions and STAY UP ALL DAMN NIGHT to get it done, so why can't you?

Who said I hired indian experts or low rate freelancers? I've hired the lowest of the low and the cream of the crop, both sides are just as bad as each other.

Hiring agencies seems the way forward to me.

I've been on both sides of this so I'd like to chime in. I've worked for other people and I've sure as hell been frustrated by freelancers and VA's.

Firstly - no. If I work for someone else I care as much as you pay me to care. You can sit up all night and turn off your phone? Cool. You have an incentive to do that I don't. I'd be working for the money and, unless I have a history with you or a reason to go beyond the absolute minimum, I'm not going to. We do have a culture of being addicted to work. At least some countries do. We're expected to answer our phones 24/7. Some industries take this to unhealthy levels. Fuck, ask anyone who's worked as a dev for a few years they always have good stories.

I have very limited experience as a freelancer but, from what I gather, most of them are also used to a decent churn rate. They're fairly used to fighting with employers which is why the good ones tend to stay in employment once they're found.

On the flip side, I recently had three full-time freelancers working on a project. I would leave them messages about things needing to be looked at but I'd be very clear I was just leaving a message. I berated someone once for working on their day off because, in the long run, they'll just burn out doing that anyway. And it's fucking insane.

If you're hiring people who tell you they can't do the job then there's a problem with your hiring process. They're clearly not the 'cream of the crop'. Going to be hard to hear that when you're pissed off. I get that. I've hired some people who have tried to take the absolute piss and I learned this the hard way. It's on you.

Oh and I'd be wary of agencies. It'll drive your cost up and half the time they give even less of a shit.

The hardest part in being a freelancer is to make yourself accountable, there's no fixed schedule, that's where most guys fail. The other one it's low rates they have to deal with because of competition.

I was a freelancer for many years and I find this really funny.

Let me tell you a story: I was looking for a web designer medium level let`s say to make a 1-page template for a wp

He almost crying on the chat, please help me I need money blah blah.

In my mind was ok...maybe he delivers quickly and nice. I ask him TAT; he said five days. After four days I ask him what news he got for me, he shows me a basic shit and was Friday at that time.

I told him four days of working, you need money, and you don`t even do a necessary thing?

HIS ANSWER: SIR DEAR SIR, NOW IT`S TO LATE I AM NOT WORKING ON the weekend.


Moral of the story: So yeah, without being racist make sure which part of the world you pick a developer. I am still working like a slave until my eyes bleed and this bastard was not working week-ends, lol

I set my own prices.
If they cooperate/I convince them that I'm worth that much money, you can bet I'll take good care of my clients and make sure they'll meet their deadline. If they don't agree with my price, I won't do anything for them. This assures that both sides are satisfied.

I laughed because I've been in many many similar situations as this hahaha, it's a shame we have to "tip-toe" around the racist stuff, but in reality, you are right... I have found much better work steering clear from a few certain countries when it comes to hiring workers.

Freelancer.com is a sess pool for talentless, time wasting, useless, bottom of the barrel, trash.

my family run varous business and i have all my life ....

i really think it comes down to attitude , like it 'not my business' , 'your earn more then me' , 'you wait' , 'i am boss know' , 'i got controll'.

my opioion , what most staff tell me and family members before they get sacked .

it seems you had a bad experience with your freelancer.instead of complianig about it . i surgest you spend more time on due dilligence next time, as surgested earlier find a person who is good in speaking english or your native language has tons of reviews and capable of doing your task , from communicating with your freelancer you will be able to tell if they can get the job done. in my experiance desperate freelancers cant get most work done on time as they are doing it out of desperation for cash which ultimately leads them to provide a poor job because they dont want to wait for perfection

Have contracts ready for all freelance work. Protects both parties.

I swear it`s a real story and also I have a situation with a seller around BHW, which he pretends he knows fuck all.

After a month he said: I said maybe we implement that thing, but I don`t suppose I promise!

He said: HAVE FAITH! Like I hire a priest not a dev.

I just realize how I waste a month in 1 minute. After I told him many times to refund me,I start speaking rudely because he refuse to listen and open a shitlist and he reimburses me in 2 minutes to cancel the shitlist.

It could be, but I am paying some of these people a lot of money.

I have even offered BONUS cash payments paid directly to their payoneer/paypal (no fees) if they deliver on time. Still some don't deliver.

I even offer incentives to work longer hours by offering $100 to get tasks done. But still some don't deliver.

If some freelancers had any common sense they should be able to realise that I am a wealthy client, who will provide them with a shit ton of work, pay them well, so they can live well and support their families.

But no still, after all the bonus cash, the golden ticket to a happy life in-front of them, they still fuck around and waste time

Currently I have 5 teams working on different projects for me, these are big big projects that have been going for months now, and tomorrow I am firing 2 if they don't meet todays deadline.

honestly, if writters see there work on page 1 of google of your website, and no how heavy the traffic getting, so there suspecting your really taking big cash .
