Freelancer, eLance or oDesk?

I would like to use a reliable platform to have someone translate an entire ebook:
Freelancer, eLance or oDesk? Which one do you guys recommend?

All three could be considered right for what you need. I have experienced that same projects are being posted in all three of them, but since there are a lot of people in each site who would apply for your project (if they know the language and are capable of translating it) then i would try freelancer.. Just because i have spent most time on it in the past, but oDesk left me the feeling of a more professional website.

P.S. What language do you need? :)
 
I'd choose oDesk for this. I think there are the best professionals. Freelancer and eLance are kinda ok. On the other hand I never used any of this site for translations, so this might not be the most objective oppinion. I suppose you want from Italian to English or vice versa. Why not contact a Fiverr members and ask them to make you an offer ?
 
Why not BHW? You have potential for the fastest reply.
 
Not sure how many people are lucky with Freelancer, but for me personally it looks like a spam site, i mean most bidders and the bids are amazing, very very fast so fast and so cheap that you cant regret such deal, but it remains as words only, either you get a very bad quality or delays or the job done in the wrong way, the only ones who made my work done and happy is US people, no offence to others (as im not from US also, Peace!) just my notice, i bet there are some good workers from different countries, but you face the reality i told what i got. This is my story!

I think oDesk is your best bet. Also the lowest in project costs if i am correct.
 
they all are legit site,the only difference should be the fee,have used freelancer and odesk for a while,both work fine
 
I'd Prefer Odesk,Although i didnt tried it,but it has some good reputation.

BTW
Why not try to hire a freelancer from BHW.
 
I will recommend Elance. You can hire people hourly basis or fixed price.
 
Elance is Good and Freelancer is also but don't go for oDesk they really sucks now.
 
Even the support of oDesk is very poor, they will never reply you what is the solution of your problem instead of this they will always open a ticket and no one will reply you soon. I have some proof if you want to see.
 
signed up to all three in the past but the only one i have got valuable work done through is freelancer. Its a simple process of job posting, and its funds release system is good for making sure you get delivery as per your task guidelines
 
I have the best experiences with Odesk but you should check the rates as well because the range is pretty big :)
 
oDesk. Freelancer is number one to avoid (find thread: Stay Away From Freelancer)
 
So, What OP really going to do now ? Since, Few people recommending oDesk & some saying avoid odesk, same for freelancer :) lol

No confusions.. Don't go anywhere - Stay on BHW!
 
In my opinion, freelancer sucks, elance is great for expensive but quality work (especially copywriting), and oDesk is great for hiring people who consider $20 per month a good full time salary to do menial tasks
