Hey folks,

I want to have a calculator developed to work on windows that could be used to determine the fair odds for a soccer match outcome and other markets that would be based on total goals scored by each team such as over 2.5 goals, ect.

This would be a very basic calculator that would be used as a marketing tool for a website and would include an affiliate link.

I am not at all up to speed on how to do this but as an example of how simple the calculations would be, i was able to do everything in Excel in about 10 minutes but instead of sending people an excel file I want to have everything in a professional program.

If possible I do not want to have to 'install' this program, just something simple that can be downloaded and opened immediately and some simple information inputted to give the percentages and odds required to bet the selection profitably.

I will be putting ad an up on a freelance website and would like to know the best programming language to use to make this program as I will have 5 keywords to use. I put up what I thought was a clear description of what I needed and got people offering to make me a calculator for my website using javascript.

Thanks.

You should make this application web based. You could allow webmasters the ability to embed a simplified widgetized version of it (using an iframe) with a backlink to the main/full version.

agreed use the web based version, also have the user input their email address in order to use it or a social locker so you can monazite and make some moola :)

Thanks for the replies guys. There will be a web based version also but for this program, it could be a thing that people will send to their friends and gain me some extra exposure and possibly a few affiliate conversions.

I am not sure how to word the freelancer ad correctly for the windows based application as I don't know what is the best programming language to use to get the desired effect.

You can build a clickonce application. It queries the server everytime it's opened. Very easy to run. You can make it run from online as well but have it as a desktop app.
