Freelance options?

Hey everyone, I'm here today looking for some alternatives to fiverr that people are actually using and making progress, I figured I'd get better results from you guys than just a google search with 100 different options. Currently I dont know how many others are experiencing this but getting orders on fiver is becoming way to painful waiting some times a few days just to get one 5$ order. So I've decided to dedicate the next few days into branching off In a bunch of different freelance sites to maximize that cash flow. Feel free to share any sites, stories, anything for that matter as I appreciate all of it! Also I am aware that theres many threads on this subject just wanted to get some updated answers for 2019.

I sometimes use upwork to find freelancers, but if you're looking to "maximize that cash flow" aka pay low wages, you're going to find it hard to get someone reliable. Fiverr was useless and I've had more luck with people I've found through friends and contacts online.
 
Hey. Fiver is way to competitive. I think you need to find your own method of getting customers.
For example, i created a website with a service, monthly subscriptions. Then i parsed with "netpeak" (you can get 2 weeks free trial btw) top quora questions for my keywords that are indexed and in top 20 serp. After that i started to answer to those questions with several accounts and recommended my service. There is a more safe way to put link in the answer: attach disclaimer in the bottom of it. You can setup it in you profile settings. So long story short. Find popular social platforms and put there recommendations about you service. They all are indexed fast and ranked good. Good luck!
 
I dont know why nobody is talking about freelancer dot com. I have made over 100k there. Although I have been working there since 2014, it demands more hard work, you cant get direct order. You have to bid like upwork but hey you will end up getting a project if you apply on many projects.
 
You can go another route by becoming your own middleman by hiring $5 an hour people on fiverr and taking on bigger jobs. Usually it all comes down to the strength of your portfolio. If you charge more money, sometimes that will make people believe your products are of a higher quality and they will skip the lowball offers. If I spend 5 dollars for anything, it never ends up being quality.

this is actually something I'm gonna consider, seems like it would free up alot of time for doing the projects.

That's the problem now, if you dont have a substantial amount of reviews and an amazing portfolio it's quite hard to gain buyers trust. I started doing some free gigs here and there to grow my portfolio now I've managed to get a nice few vouches so this should help.

Hey, fellow Freelancer. I was just about to say so. No one really gives credit to Freelancer (dot) com. It's a little bit more chaotic, but you'll get really decent clients if you know how to filter through the rubbish.

Exactly as I said. The fact that you get almost unlimited bids makes it better than upwork. There are loads of projects to manually apply on that makes it better than fiverr. On fiverr you have to wait for your luck. On freelancer you make your own luck. Yes it requires more hard work. But I am 100% sure if you sit whole day you will end up getting a project.

I have done over 1000 projects there and to be frank I am not able to milk this website completely. Simply because I am plain lazy and like laying whole day. On days when I have worked hard and been honest freelancer dot com has potential to get you $1000 worth projects every day. THis is no exaggeration it is the truth.
 
Don't stick with Fiverr. Even if you manage to get a headstart, you'll strive to find consistent work.

Thank you for the reply, I'm definitely gonna take a look into this site as soon as I get a chance, I'm lazy too but I just started so I'm eager to earn my first dollar!
