Free Wordpress Theme based on your design/direction.

Hey BHW. I want to make wordpress themes but I really am not a designer. I never get far with my own ideas and they look ugly anyway.

I am offering to make themes based on community desires. Maybe you want something with a particular layout and color scheme? Point me to an example or draw a mockup and I'll make a free theme based on it. Anything I make that is accepted into the wordpress theme directory will also be supported in an appropriate capacity but all themes will be released and listed in the member downloads section regardless of that. This is intended as a community thing.

I intend to make parent themes from scratch, so I am not offering to make child themes of existing themes. I will certainly take design inspiration from existing themes however.

I need something productive to do while I have no paying projects.
I'm not going to go crazy with features and such, but I will make something functional, responsive, non-crap and based on community direction, for free.

I prefer any design suggestions and such to be here publicly. I'll work as I have the free time for it and I can really only do one theme at a time. I can't knock these out in 5 minutes but I'll do my best to get them done quickly. I'll be taking input and giving updates as I progress.

I've never done or seen a thread like this here but this seemed like the best spot to post it and I look forward to building some good stuff for people.
Don't be shy to ask. I'll take any direction and nothing is beyond my ability. Everyone gets a say in how a particular theme I make turns out.

Can you develop a light-weight fully-responsive theme like Schema from MyThemeShop? A feature missing in the theme that you can include in yours is "Post Grid".

For samples you can have a look here:

There should be options for how many columns grid is required, whether text is to be displayed or not, whether button is to be displayed or not or only click-able featured images are to be displayed. If user desires, the theme should be able to display a single column grid in sidebar too.

Heh, it does give me some direction. Started off with reproducing the look of the theme and will go from there.

Quick update for IndianFreak:

Been busy but working away on creating this theme. Just about finalized all the css for the header area.
Really one of the more complex items when going from scratch.
Here's a screenshot and I'll be moving along on this

What is your cost to create a WP theme?

That kind of depends on how much is involved with it. Features, complexity, etc. This isn't a marketplace thread anyway heh.

What are you looking to have done on it? I haven't worked on the schema one in a bit, have had other things going on.
