I've been browsing the board for a while, but I haven't really shared anything....until now. This will be the first post of a few.

When I started posting articles in Associated Content, I was trying to article re-write, etc. What a pain in the ass.

Tried to outsource at $1 per article...the quality was terrible.

Then I discovered a winning method (this is not from an ebook, I came up with this myself).

This is a newspaper archive that goes back hundreds of years. They charge a really minimal monthly fee which I made back in just 3 articles, so it works out to be free.

For example, you can search for "diet". you'll see awesome, original articles there. If you go back to the 1950's, 60's, 1970's, and even the 80's, these have never been published online.

Just copy the articles and boom...you have an instant, well written unique article that requires no modification, rewriting, translating, etc.

another tip for everyone. a lot of the articles are really well written (obviously, since they were written by journalists). I suggest that you make up sources when you submit your articles.

Also, you can check your local large newspaper and see if they have an archive section. Here in St. Louis there is an archive section and they charge $2.95 per article or you can also order by the group.

I became a member and weeded through the content. I took diet as your example, but damn so much articles to weed through.
It also has all newspaper ads scanned.

try being more specific with your search terms (there are over a billion articles)! Most of the fad diets that you think are new really aren't =)

You can probably outsource someone to copy the article for less than .75 cents

This is a good idea. What do you mean about make up sources?
Also is it in pdf format or can you copy/paste? Do you modernize it as the language from the 50s is different than today? Are you quoting experts or just writing an article say on why vegetables are good for you etc?

if you write a good article, AC wants to know where the info. came from (how do you know carbs don't make you gain weight. It's easy to BS the sources).

The language is the same, much further back then the 50's! IMPORTANT NOTE: I SUGGEST USING OLDER MATERIAL THAT IS NOW IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN (not copyrighted). Then you won't have any problems at all!

Yeah that is important cause if they are locked, it would make things a lot more difficult

they're pdf, so you'll have to copy it. If you type fast, it won't take long at all. You can probably outsource it for .75 cents per article.

Cool. This also works for old books. Scan them, use character recognition software and there you have it - unique content.
