Do networks have a problem with chargebacks and free trials? I know it sounds weird but I'd imagine that pretty much every who signs up for a free trial eventually tries to get their money back because I doubt they expected to be charged 80 bucks 2 weeks later. So with the amount of complaints they must get, how is this still a profitable method?

Of course they would have a problem with it. They normally won't pay you if they see you delivering a high number of chargebacks. Usually most people dont chargeback things though.

So let me try to understand this. Instead of most people doing chargebacks, they usually just cancel their order after being charged like 70 dollars. In this case everyone still makes a profit. Is that about right? I dont imagine anyone NOT canceling after being suprised by the charge.

Im sure a lot of people do cancel. But also remember people do not rigorously look at their bank statements, so they end up getting charged several times. Some people probably do keep the stuff too.

Yes thats true... Not everybody will cancel their trial... There are some people who dont even bother checking their account. If they discover any charge too , they may / may not file a charge back all of a sudden , but will postpond it to a non-working day ( if they are busy)... As a result its a win situation for Advertisers.

When the quality of the leads is not good , an affiliate will be terminated for non-quality traffic... And still advertiser wins..

I have a direct relationship with someone and hence i have a little info about how this industry works...

Hope this helps.
