Pulled down a free tool online and noticed it calls out somewhere every launch, and with the amount of account and proxy data it can see I'm not comfortable until I know what's actually leaving my machine. Blocking it at the firewall usually just breaks it or it finds another route, so that tells me nothing.
For anyone who actually vets these, I'm trying to work out whether you catch what it's sending by watching the traffic live or by going into the tool itself, and whether you can cut just
the phone-home without killing the parts you actually use. Mainly want to know what it's reporting back before I trust it.
