Yep dupefree is free. You can get around paying copyscape if you load up an article on your server but that's a bit of a hassle. The other advantage of dupefree is you can compare articles side by side and it will tell you the uniqueness. This is really handy if you want to rewrite an ezine or plr article.

dupefree is sure a good free tool . But at their site they ask for your mail id and you need to confirm the mail in order to get the download link.
