First of all, I have no affiliation with the service I'm talking about. I'm just a happy user and I'm sure that some of you have already heard of it in the forums or somewhere else (it's featured on businessinsider, mediatemple, techcrunch etc.) I'm talking about CloudFlare which basically is a content delivery network (CDN) and distributed Domain Name Server service. It claims that your websites load twice as fast, use 60% less bandwidth, have 65% fewer requests and are way more secure. It works by re-routing the traffic through its global network while blocking threats and caching content (faster page loads and less spam). The basic plan is free so you anyone can register and start using it. You have to be able to change your domain's nameserver settings to use CloudFlare. I've been using CloudFlare for a few weeks now on two of my sites and I have witnessed faster page loads and I've noticed that visitors stay longer on the site (it's a know fact that long page load times drop some visitors out). I only have the basic plan so I'm not paying for the service. Another good thing is that with CF I see correct visitor stats and all kinds of extra stats like the crawlers and threats that have visited my page. This is a direct quote from the website: A few weeks ago I thought that I'm getting around 300 unique visitors to my website each day but after using CF for a while I realized that I actually get ALMOST 500 uniques per day! Here's proof: Below you can also see stats about the saved bandwidth and crawler stats for yesterday (23rd September, 2011). Basic plan acts with 24h delay so I can't show the stats for today. As I said before I have no affiliation with CF so I don't get any money if you start to use it, I just find the service so cool that I wanted to share it with you guys!
