Does anyone have any feedback on the software? What's to stop anyone from simply doing this over and over again after the two week period is complete?

90% of online platforms which have the capability to create a coupon code have the capability to limit them.

only new users, only return clients, only totals over $XX, only on products X/Y/Z, only before XX/YY/2011, unlimited/once per user/one use period...

It works but you need to get upto the payment screen, then open another window, go to the homepage, click on your account, click upgrade, then enter the code.

How do people use this data?

I'm getting some funky results for the competition measure, which makes me distrust the other numbers.

For example, here are some competition numbers for high traffic keywords:
    • sex = 0.23
    • yahoo.com = 0.00
    • www = 0.00
    • apple = 0.11

Do people find SEMRush useful? If so, for what?/

1.) Apple I'm sure has a pretty good lock on all their keywords. Trying to compete with them on AdWords is probably like trying to compete with Adobe. They will outspend you, therefore, not much competition. (Nobody can afford it. It's not practical.) Not to mention, if you want to use the term "Apple" in the context of iPods, iPads, iTunes, etc.. Google requires you to have permission from Apple to use their trademark. GLWT. (Apple.com is the only AdWord for "apple.")

2.) Many things you cannot do on AdWords, advertising a sex site would not fly. That would get approved about as fast as a site selling heroin.

3.) Yahoo.com, like Apple/Adobe is surely locked up. And again, trademark.

4.) Search the term "www" and tell me what AdWords you see. 0.00 seems to make sense for that term.

I find SEMRush useful because it gives me a very good list of keywords that my competition is *actively* pursuing. Sort of like if you had a list of keywords that you knew your SEO competition WAS optimizing... Their keyword list in order of priority... How much was invested in each keyword, etc. Very useful information.

Much of the data, especially numbers are simply pulled from AdWords keyword tool, though. But that saves you the trouble of finding each keyword that your competition is listed for, organizing them into a text file, importing them into the keyword tool to get traffic/cost, then calling your competition on the phone and having them help you organize the list in order of importance to them. They're probably not going to help you do that.

SEMRush is great also for finding keywords that they may be slacking on.. AdWords micro-niches if you will. I love the service personally and use it often.

okay so the competition numbers are for the ads, not SEO competition.
