guys, could you please educate me on using proxies?

Let's say I get a list of fresh proxies.

1) How do I use free tools to check if they are alive? What's the best one and how to use it?
2) If let's say I create profile on forum or social network and make a comment, and then proxy becomes dead / expires, what IP address users will see corresponding to my profile / comment? Would my real IP get exposed?

2) Every site works different but mostly logs each IP to login to that account.

If the proxy is dead find a new one to replace it.

This doesn't apply to FB since change the proxy will get you a roadblock

1. Here's a thread i started awhile back, its a proxy checker that will separate working proxies from non working. Its not the best, but it gets the job done. http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/member-downloads/222786-get-proxy-checker-seperate-working-proxies-dead-proxies.html

2. If you have a proxy enabled and its dead, it wont do anything. The screen will either stay blank or an error message will pop up, it wont just automatically bypass the proxy if its not working (unless you have some kind of plugin that makes the browser do that).

As far as logging into forum accounts with a different proxy other than the one you usually do, ive never really had any problems with it because most forums don't have anything on their site to deter against it like facebook's roadblocking does. Experienced forum spammer here ;)

Exactly, thought i made it clear enough when i said it will do nothing. So, if it does nothing, it doesn't load the site AT ALL and your real ip will not be exposed.

and another question..
If i configure Firefox with a free proxy, my IP when I use Firefox will be one corresponding with this proxy.
But what if I browse through Google? Will it be my regular IP? Or it will be changes all across the board?
