Hi everyone,

So I have a friend who works in a government office. She called me today to tell me they are offering free course, first come, and wanted me to know about it in case I was interested.

The course are:
Initiation to programming (90)
Delphi (150)
Java: basic (60)
Java: advanced (75)
Action Script 2 (120)
Intiation to Javascript and DHTML (95)
SQL with MySQL (90)
SQL with MySQL II (120)
Php (120)
Php Avanced (120)
Programming in Access (100)
Apache (100)

I would start with the Initiation into Programing, but what should I chose next? (I am a complete Newb - but extra knowledge is always good especially if its free.) And the certificates are oficial issued by the Ministry of Education.

It depends on what you want to do..

If you want to go the software route Initiation > Java > Advanced Java

If you want to go the web route Initiation > Initiation to Javascript and DHTML > PHP > SQL with MYSQL > Php advanced > Mysql advanced. Actionscript 2 is replaced by Actionscript 3 nowadays, but is ok if you want to start doing things with flash.

Also, shouldnt this be in the programming section?

Listen man... If you dont already know how to code, then take all the courses you can. I taught myself to code by reading ebooks. Free courses would have been much easier. You will also realize that after you learn one language, they are all basicly the same. You will just learn new syntax but the basics are the same. Well happy coding!!

Thanks for the info. That def. clears up exactly what I wanted to know.

It is not really related to anything blackhat, just a personal question that is why I posted in the Lounge, but if this is not correct can an admin please change it?

I will be starting from the very basics. That is good to know, because once I sign up and as long as I am taking the tests within an allocated time frame I can start one of the other courses until I complete them all so in theory it should get easier. Kudos on learning to code on your own - don't think I could do that.
