Well I personally got a free trail to Lynda.com and posted those certs on my linkedin account but I kinda agree with Oukast. IM is pretty much self taught, finding out how methods work and adding your own twist to it. We have some great people on here who have shared different methods.
Besides all of that you don't need a cert all the time. In my resume I list some things as independent study and give a rought estimate of my skill range. Intermediate, ongoing study for 3 years. Something like that. Just don't put something like life lesson or the school of hard knocks. Had a mate do that and the interviewer just flat out laughed at their attempt.
