http://freeola.com/giveaway/ Open to UK only so you might need to use a proxy. They take about 6-8 hours to verify and then you can swap your dns info and you're good to go. Offer runs until the end of December.
Thanks dude. Just registered 1 right now. If anyone needs a UK proxy, here's 1, working as of now, really slow though
Mmm, .info domain name, for 1 year only. Then you renew at their prices. There is nothing in there about costs of transferring to another registrar. Why risk it to save just $1 you can get the .info domain name for anyway? Or am I missing something here?
Fully agree, I have seen reseller registrars selling .info domains for $15.... If somebody has already received their free domains, let us know if the deal is legit. E.g: 1. allowed to transfer 2. required to enter credit card details before receiving, and then forced to auto renew for another year. 3. only free if one takes a hosting package?
I am in the UK, and went to the site. It looks legit. My issue is that while their offer says the domain is free, it then goes to say that if you want to keep it after a year, you have to pay the normal fee. That might be fine, but they could suddenly jack up these prices. If you can't easily transfer the domain, then it makes the whole process pointless for all non-trivial uses of the domain. I just can't see the point.
Most people use .com/org/net for their buisnesses. .info's are usually used just for experimenting/url-forwarding etc.
OVH gave out UK domains for people living in the UK, I managed to snag like 30 of them before they ended the offer, at 1/a day.
