Do you remember good old times were almost all the guest posts were free? Even top blogs allowed free guest posts just to get good content for free on their blog. Fascinating to see how fast time changes.

Free guest posts are basically when you write content for another site without paying to get a backlink and honestly they can still be worth it if you choose sites with real traffic relevant audience and decent engagement but most “free” lists are low quality or spammy so you’ve got to vet them carefully and focus on relationship building not just blasting links everywhere.

Yes, times have changed. Earlier most guest posts were free because site owners mainly needed content. Now people understand the real value of backlinks and authority, so paid guest posting became normal. For sellers, it’s a good opportunity to provide quality placements and value.

Yeah, those days were quite different. Many blogs accepted free guest posts because they mainly wanted fresh content and community contributions. Over time, as SEO and link building became more competitive, many sites started charging editorial or placement fees. Free guest posts still exist today, but they’re usually on smaller blogs or when the content is genuinely valuable and relevant.

My take - Free guest posts are usually "Branding Footprints," not "Link Juice."
If you use those sites we usually use in many Mix Backlink SEO Packages, keep your expectations realistic. I would like to add that most people use AI to write content and that's why they don't need guest posts that much; therefore they charge money from other website owners to give them the guest posts in return.

Yeah, those days were different. Once SEOs started using guest posts mainly for links, most blogs turned them into paid placements. Now it’s more of a media buy than a pure content exchange.

You're right, SEO had its heyday. Remember about 5 to 7 years ago, all it took was one insightful article that resonated with readers' pain points, and major blogs would readily welcome it. Now, it's mostly pay to play. With AI leading to a proliferation of content, blogs are forced to charge fees to filter out junk and maximize profits

You're right, but the game has changed too... Guest posting used to be more about content, now it's become a market because of links and SEO... Many sites started monetizing it because they saw the demand, even so, really good blogs still accept free contributions, but they tend to be much more demanding.
