Preface (skip to "Tool" if you are a soulless robot):

I've been dabbling in HTML5 for the past couple of months, while working on an indie, physics based, puzzle/platformer game. While game dev is a very exciting process, I've decided to do something a little more "productive" and create this free SEO app for my fellow BHatter while I'm waiting on our Graphics-guy to complete the next set of sprites for the game.

Now I know, HTML5 is still rather new and a lot of its functionality is still in active development (for example the inbuilt file-API functions), however in its current stage it is already very useful and most importantly usable. Progress is rather fast and I'm quite sure that HTML5 will certainly become a new standard pretty soon.

Tool:

Now, don't expect anything groundbreaking here as I just started working on this. Right now, all this tool does is scrape the first 100 results from scroogle.org. So in essence it is a very limited goolge scraper. However, I will expand its functionality to a full set of google results (1000), multiple keywords + multiple threads.

This however is not all. I'm planning to work on several modules, like a link checker, a PR checker, maybe some twitter related functions and so on. Actually, I'm not even sure what to work on next apart from the obvious. So, suggestions, requests and so on are very much welcome!

The tool can be found here: http://173.254.30.183/scriptotools/

Best to view this with Chrome, as their HTML5 support is fairly stable. The tool should work in firefox, opera as well as IE (latest version) though.

Hope this proves useful to someone, once again, any suggestions are welcome!

Cheers

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I'm not masking the requests sent by the program to scroogle.org in any way, so I'd guess that it will send my servers IP into cooldown sooner or later. If anybody can drop over some free private proxies, I'd very much appreciate that!

It's great. I am pretty amazed from what you acomplished with Construct 2. You're pretty good at it.

Hey, thanks!
Construct 2 + sound javascript knowledge = greatness! Brilliant tool, because you can really speed up the whole GUI creation process + it's modular too, so you can write your own javascript plugins and there's really no limit to it (well, almost... I was trying to make it work with a python framework, required too many external files though... sadly). Right now I've written a bunch of custom plugins for myself (since their SDK is pretty solid too) and more or less transformed the whole thing into a an app rather than a game framework.

Also, I've recently ported some of my game stuff to their engine and man that little license fee was really worth it! Might think about porting the HTML5 game all together and working with construct, just testing everything out right now.

So, I'm rather amazed by the team/tool working on Constuct 2. Check them out!
