I have a question. How do you let search engines know right away that you have a backlink on a .edu domain? Won't it take ages for Google to even crawl those directories or forums?

Well, I really don't know when Google will crawl those links, you can help the indexing process to make it more faster.

it will take 3-4 days for the site I gave to show up on your backlink list.

On a side note-- I see we have two funny people who decided to vote "NO" on the poll-- Identify yourself cowards!

No doubt... someone has been busy bombing the crap out of the first link - 'alternative cooking stove' section - NO shame!? Looks like no one has bothered to moderate that thread since around 4/08 - 217 pages of 'comments' - hilarious.
