I'm not going to use this myself but I ran a VirusTotal on the download you provide. I'd definitely check before I downloaded and used this, no offense, but you got 1 post here. ;-)

Is there anything like this for IP.Board Forum Software Been looking for one, But being new to making a forum I'm new to the software also..

I understand, but it's not a virus :-) I found cScrape posted on another foreign, snatched it up before it was removed and I'm sharing it with you guys since everyone seems to want a copy but can't find one!


Please hit like on my post once you download the copy and see it's authentic :-)
 
From what I understand about this script is that it scrapes content from other forums and posts it on our forum. Is that right? If so, then won't it lead to legal issues?

Probably not. You can get the cScrape to spin the title and the content automatically.
 
I have downloaded and got it working on a test forum running vbulletin. It seems to work as it should, but I can only get it to post around 3-5 new threads, per RSS feed. Anyone else have better luck getting it to post more threads? Also, on some of the threads it posts "RE" at the beginning of the thread title. Besides that it seems to be working as it should, unless it is secretly sending info to another site or person.

On that not, has anybody else tried using this? I am a little paranoid about giving it access to my production sites database. Anyone check the code to make sure it is not sending our DB passwords to someone else (I do not have the skill to check this or I would)
 
Ok, I have tested this out some more. Depending on the fees, I have gotten it to post up to 15 threads. So that seems to be working fine. I realized it posts the "re" in the thread when it has been replied to. So once it starts posting newer threads the RE should not be a problem. I have a cron setup on it running every 30 mins so it should stay fresh.

Still can't telll if it is sending any unwanted info or if it is trying to spam members of my form (it's a test forum so it don't matter)
