Hi all, few months ago i built some pinging tool for my personal use. I found one of the big problems in this process is to find out how to stop waste my time (and also SB time) and organize all the links and all the pings. i built some tool and now i also customize it to work for multi-users. ping-tool.com - click here So here it how it goes: besiclly, we upload txt file with links, the system make another 2 301 redirection for each url. those url are created on aged domains - one of them is 5 years old and the second one is 10. we ping single url every 5 days - means, on day one the original url will be pinged, on day 6 the 301 url created will be ping, on day 11 the second 301 url created will be pinged and so on - so we ping totally 6 times during the month 3 urls that are o/c all pointed to the original url uploaded. why upload txt and not copy-paste to text field? As i make large amount of links each day, i needed option to upload all the links fast. So on the end of the day i marge all the txt files i have to one file and upload it to ping. i tested the system with files of 5-6M (around 100K links), i guess it will work with bigger files also. does the system use keywords for each url? when it needed - yes. we have a list of 20K words and expression the system use. you can't add your own keyword to each url, i thought doing that for low quality links is just a waste of time. does the system start pinging the url just after i uploaded the file? no. all the links uploaded are pulled at midnight (by server time) only by diffurent server and pinged by order. means, if you uploaded a link on the morning, the first ping will be only around day after. does the system continue to ping after a month also? no. the files are deleted automatically after a month. they will not be pinged anymore. the 301 redirection urls will work for another month later and then deleted also. does pinging is enough to index all links? no, but more info about this you can find out on the forum. this is only one of the tools i'm using, not the only one. how the txt file should be built? txt file should have only 1 url in each line. if you will add any text after the url (like the success file of xr) the ping will not work good. please clean the files before upload. it can have as many lines as you want - as i said - i work with 100,000 urls +-, what gives me 5Mb file. This is free tool for you to use and i hope it can be useful for you ping-tool.com - click here Please add you thoughts
The upload is quite simple. The only thing is in kind of beta is the multi-users system. what problem do you get? what error? i do see other users uploaded there txt files, and i also testet it again and havn't found any problem. please check that you upload only .txt files. thanks you your feedback.
During the 30 days we ping twice the original link. The 301 redirect URLs are build to give extra power to the ping process.
looks like a good service, i'm using ping-device and they give only 500 each time so it can be very useful for me. tnx.
you can check it, add some wp blog with url that only you know and open comment box, and see if something happens. like i said - it is a simple tool build to save time and i'm adding it here as "giving back" to the community. i added few twists to the ping proccess - first of all, we use few more 301 links, and not only the original one. second - all the proccess is done behind the scenes by the server and not on client side - means, you don't need to waste time wating. third - as everything done server side, you don't need to split your lists to 100\500 links in each url. you can add as many urls as you want - it can save lots of time to people that have lots of links (like me). as i wrote - i'm making each day around 100K links, to ping them in SB or using pingdeice is just to much time. will very much appreciate to hear your opinion on the system, and o\c to hear if you find it usfull and how it can be better. Cheers
I'm not sure what is wrong but I can not get it to take my txt file. I tried both IE 8 and Firefox 3.6.
Nice tool thanks man.If the txt file has say 1.http..... 2.http.... is that no go due to the numbers preceeding the url, cheers
Uploading needs some work. After selecting the file with the browse button it doesn't appear in the text box, but when you hit the go button it successfully uploads. This may confuse some.
It is no go, you need to upload only links without the numbers. it this way the ping will be to the url + the number, and that's not good. seems liks some css problem, will check it out, thanks. when you hit "go" it's not uploading your file?
Does some Rss option will help you guys? option to split your links to rss feeds? ----------------------------------------- Just upload another one. When we will have some overload, we we build functions to check duplicat post and wrong urls... right now it's not the situastion.
