this is for a wordpress site.
I have tried piwik but I hate it because it doesn't show what keyword people used. it always says "direct entry" even if you use a search engine to arrive to site. I also suspect the data is not accurate.
I have been on their forums and followed all instructions but my problem is not resolved. I think there is a conflict with one of my plugins.

I also tried open web analytics. since I am using w3 cache plugin, I cant use open web analytics because there is a known conflict between the two. this is a known conflict and you simply cant use both at the same time.

clicky is good but the free version only lets you go back 28 days (or is it 30 days?) so if I want to view my traffic from 60 days ago, I cant.

Any other ideas?

I happen to like Piwik.

I believe if someone is logged into their G account, search words are stripped (or encrypted) from the tracking URL using SSL.

I know only clicky, using it also, hope someone share a good one

I think Statcounter can get the job done, real time stats, and pretty accurate compare to G Analytic.

You'll run into the problem of referring keywords being stripped from queries more and more as the search engines tighten their stranglehold on what data they're willing to give. I'd still use Piwik over Analytics any day of the week.

Sorry didn't know you tired piwik. As per as your title I suggested the piwik. just updated the comment. Sorry in advance.

I use piwik and I get search engines keywords with it when they are availables, your install/parameters are probably incorrect.

I use Piwik.

Google kw's are not available to analytics either, the data is all skewed. The only way to see kw's is through webmaster stools.

so I guess metrica from yandex is receiving the most votes. not sure how I feel about giving my site info to a russian website though.

I use stat counter, it's ok starting out I can't comment on anything else.

I switched over to yandex metrika about 6 months ago and I couldn't be happier.
