I am copywriter by trade and have written dozens of Adwords ads for my clients. This thread is for people currently running campaigns. If you want to increase conversions, post your question or PM me your ad, and I will give you some tips or edits for free (I usually charge at least $50 per ad).

    Some misc. tips:

    1. You only have one exclamation point per ad. Use it well. Put it after a POSITIVE word. NEVER put it after a price.
    2. Clarity always beats ambiguity.
    3. Sometimes your ads can filter out traffic you don't want (e.g., people who click your ad but don't do what you want after getting to your site).
    4. Never lie.

Wow. Wild response via PMs. To those PMing me, I am glad to help, but I cannot respond to everyone right away. Please be patient and I will get back to you.

Stkmags, let's do it! What makes a normal thread into an info thread?

    Some more tips:

    5. Use the "square" adwords ad as your basis for the ad; it is more common and therefore more representative.
    6. Try not to break your sentences into separate lines. One line, one sentence (or phrase) usually gets better conversions.
    7. Do not put any trademark names into your ads. You will get banned.

If you understood what copywriters do, you would understand that my price is well justified.

Imagine I rewrite your adwords ad, improving your conversions by 1/3. In other words, whereas before you were getting 30 conversions per day, now you are getting 40. If each conversion makes you an extra $20, the ad pays for itself before the day's over.

With the right ad, you can make your advertising money worth more. If I create an ad that improves conversions by 1/3, every one dollar you spend on advertising is now worth 1.33 dollars.

Most of my clients are large companies who realize this fact. The largest budget of most successful companies is in advertising, and I tend to get paid more per hour than even some SEOs, when you get down to crunching the numbers.
