Hi,

Has anyone else noticed recently the increase in bot clicks?

Ads are for bing/yahoo only, exact match keywords.

I am using clickmagick for tracking and I am seeing a very big increase in bot or "server" traffic.
Today, I got 1 real click and 40 clicks from digitalocean. Bing takes a bit of time to update, but so far they have already charged me for 14 clicks.
And this is getting more common every day. I have to turn the ads off because otherwise I would just pay $300 to get 1 click.

Bings answer is "well we try to encourage people to use our analysis tools instead of third party tracking tools. Looking into your account everything seems to be fine on our end and the clicks are coming from bing.com search queries"

How do you get past this? Turn off all ads for desktop?

So small update:

I just took all the bot / server click IPs from all my campaigns combined and blacklisted them on both active campaign that I have.

Deleted all duplicates and added IP ranges for all - total 60 different IPs.

So far so good, last 3-4 hours got only legit clicks. Will see how it goes.

The issue will be is that the bot will generate new IPs.

I have faced this issue before, and what I did so far is filtering search IP's by hostname and block them all. Another good tactic is using negative keywords, see what keywords these bots are searching to click your ad and block them all. usually they're promoted products keywords.

Can you also block hostnames in microsoft ads?
I blocked all the IPs, but still get a some since they generated new IPs.
