Hi All.

I had an idea which I came across because I could do with this service.

We have a want to buy section, but not a want to sell, for one-off items.

Creating a BST is great for a service, but currently, like now I have a website I want to sell and there isn't a service to compliment it.

This isn't something I do regularly, it is just a one-off situation.

Now, if we had a 'Want to Sell' section where JRVIPS could sell SINGLE ITEMS only. and instead of paying the $30 for a BST we could pay, say, 5% of the sale price.

It could work for other things, but I think for single websites it could do very well.

Even for single social media accounts that we have grown but now have no need for.

Does anybody else have any ideas, or contributions to this idea?

I know you can sell items like this, but a dedicated section would be great unless there is and I am just missing it!

Will work only if the money goes via BHW as a 3rd party but can`t be just 5% as they must pay taxes as well and will be a lot of work for super moderators dealing with few bucks transactions.

Would you do it pro-bono? I don`t think so.

Yeah i suppose so, it could be a one-off payment but say $15

You can sell your site on BHW. Here's the section: https://www.blackhatworld.com/forums/domains-websites-for-sale.195/

I did that https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/amazon-website-for-sale-aged-site-high-quality-content-and-sleek-design.1095574/, and the website was sold promptly.

Of course, just like a regular BST, you'll have to pay the $30 fee.

I don't get it, what's wrong with opening a BST to sell that item?
Recently @Nerva sold his website in a bst
@BassTrackerBoats is selling old typepad accounts (with backlinks and stuff) in a bst

Following your suggestion, BHW has to wait till you make the sale? (to get the 5%)
That's unlikely to happen.

I sold a website as well via BHW and was faster than new shitty flippa.

Agreed. BHW is superior in that aspect because:
  • The fee is reasonable.
  • You get more exposure.
  • Buyers here can actually tell the difference between a shitty site and a quality one.

I think that will be great addition for this forum,

No need to wait, who sells can pay before listing, but in most of the cases $30 will be much less than this %5.

There were situations where sellers change the listing price after opening the BST. So we recalculate the fees again?
I don't think someone will increase price, as it's one time sell, if someone can't sell item will decrease price and will lose that money,

So one who will lose in price change will be seller not BHW.

Yeah, I had a feeling I was missing something!

Although, it still isn't a bad idea to have a dedicated sales section for one-off items?

You don't see the big picture. BHW will still lose money.
Let's take @Nerva website selling for example.

Current System - A
price = $550
BHW Fees = $30

Proposed System - B
price = $550
BHW Fees = $27.5

This is what's going to happen.
Us, users will use System B for any item that's less than $600 (less money for BHW)
and System A for any item above $600 (to minimize the %5 fees) - Unless BHW adds a rule against this.

See my point now, why this unlikely to happen?

ps: I still haven't had my coffee, my calculations may be off :p

the current marketplace sections are quite ok with whatever you wanted to sell

Ideally, it wouldn't be on or the other though, it would be a strict %.

Whether that be 5%,7.5% or more.

Although, I can see how people would try to lie about the selling amount.

Maybe it isn't such a straightforward idea, after all.

This to work, BHW should add a rule that "only services are allowed with the current system"
Single items (such as domains, websites) should be sold under the proposed system. (% wise)

Then again, there are sellers such as @Nargil who sells domains as a service? (multiple domains)

This will make things complicated. ;)

Yeah, but he is selling a service.

This thread is talking about single, one-time items.

I have 5 websites to sell, what would you suggest?
To sell them as separate items? or sell them as a "website service"

Jaja, I'm taking over this thread. Let's wait for BHW folks to decide on this ;)

I 100% vouch for that idea of @zack101
Also a subscription-based system would be better, like you pay say for a package of five want to sell threads ($75 for example) and you can sell 5 items in a row.
Possible issue is to assign a mod who shall verify ownership or ability to deliver the item exposed for sale.
I don't get it, what's wrong with opening a BST to sell that item?
Maybe because that would be a big part of the amount?
Just assume someone has his high karma Reddit account for $75 but has no plan to offer a service. If they pay $30, well it obviously seems too high.
