Forum Sig on account with 7K+ posts | Neg SEO ?

Hey there,

I would like to dilute my anchor as my keywords 1 and 2 are 22 & 18% of backlinks. I actually have an account on a forum with 7K+ posts on it.

I'd like to post a link signature to dilute my anchor but I'm not sure about the effect it will have on my SEO ! Note that content in posts are not related to my niche and I only have 800 backlinks to my website.
What are your thoughts on this ? Is it going to hurt more than rank me ?

a link (or 7000 links) from a single domain is unlikely to make a difference, positive or negative.
If the forum is high PR, I would do it anyway.

Do not try this, I am in forum posting from last two years. It will just f**k rankings but can give your traffic through those signatures.

I'm talking about a single forum with an account having 7K posts. I won't obviously spam website with 7K forum backlinks.

Even if your count is 7k I doubt that any search engine will find all those links, as many are made a long time ago and are buried so deep that they won't show up. Also it counts sort of like a sitewide link, a little better than just a link but nothing too extraordinary...at least not for google. Yahoo and msn might count them as different links( did so the last time I checked). Not sure if it will help very much from a seo point of view, though if it's targeted it could bring in a lot of traffic.

He is NOT talking about 7k links.. Not sure how people are getting confused. His account on a forum has 7K posts, he will put a link into his signature linking to his site.

if he's account has 7k posts and he has a signature for each post, isn't that 7k links...theoretically

I recommend you build other types of links to dilute your anchor text ratio because no one can say for sure whether 7,000 forum sig links from one forum will impact your site negatively or not.

there are many people who have those links. it will make your site look legit if there is a google review.

7k links from only one ref doamin is not too good , but also not too bad. use a bit/googl link insted of direct link.

Google can detect such kinds of links. There is diminishing returns on link from same domain. I would do it if the forum is really related to the site and can get some good traffic to your site

As the forum is not targeted for my niche (french medicine forum) and because it is a bit risky, I'll not use this forum to create backlinks. I will try to dilute my anchor with naked URL differently.

What I did in that case was made a post in the forum, which had text around my keyword/link. Say 200-300 words.
Then my sig file linked to this post. This this post will have a ton of internal links to it and hopefully pass link juice to that one post.
Then that post links to your money site and hopefully has a bit of link juice.

The link may not be ridiculously strong, but hopefully it has a bit of extra juice compared to a link with no links at all.

You may wish to go ahead and add your signatures if the above said forum is niche relevant. I had a great experience from a programming forum to my programming blog. So it worked to bring my bog to PR5 very shortly.

Incase, it is not at all relevant, then think about create one blog in that forums niche and start go along with it. Since forum signatures can be a good source of traffic apart from the link juice you are expecting.
