What are your thoughts on getting forum signature links from relevant forums???/ I have not seen any discussions on these type of links recently and was wondering are they still good???

Good question.

I can only tell you from my own experience, if they interest me enough, I click on them.

Would advice on using a banner, like the one you have here, it looks good.

If you are a helpful contributor they are good for driving referral traffic.

They aren't very good for SEO though.

They can bring excelent targeted traffic, but in my opinion nowadays SEO benefit of these is not big.

What would you say about using them for SEO benefit?? Forums are great source for authority and i think getting generic anchor links from them will pass link juice... right?? or I am wrong??

email the owner and pay him per month to have your backlink on specific thread (that rank in google)

(most of forum owners not have problem , because most of ranking threads are old and i not affect community of forum)

but signature links are not much worth in seo unless you want traffic from forum.

I would like to hear some more people's opinion on that...

Definitely good for traffic if its a related forum and your posts are useful.
I think there is 'some' SEO benefit though even though many are nofollow

I think they hurt backlink juice. Good for traffic though. I generally create a 301 page on my site that is noindex / nofollow and then use that to redirect to my main page.

How they can hurt??? I guess a backlink is a backlink and in case of forums, it is surrounded by a lot of text.. so if it the link is placed in a relevant thread and the links are d0follow, i guess it should pass link juice...

Sometimes I get a lot of traffic from them like 100+ views a day, other days I get around 5 views. Those visits also share a lot.

It depends on how closely google is looking at the html. on this forum for example the signature is in a <div class="signaturecontainer"> so maybe it would be better in the actual post. It seems unlikely that links on forums pass no juice as its quite a natural thing to do.

Obviously profile links are easy for google to devalue as they are easily identifiable by their url

What if you would build tier 2+3 links to those forum links?

Forum posting signature is not good, they may help you for the referral traffic direct to your website if you active with relevant forum, and make the communicate daily still good but not much as per SEO prospective as were earlier..Thanks

They're good for targeted traffic that has a higher conversion rate.

People are saying that they are good for traffic but what i was interested in was using them for SEO benefit....

They are great for driving direct traffic but it only works if you are a valued forum member who posts regularly and gives out useful advice and helps people.

If you just write one sentence answers, don't give any value to people or are always getting into arguments you'll not get far. Can be highly targeted and high converting traffic too.
