Does anyone know if there is any associated ranking boosts with authoritative (by niche awareness not necessarily metrics) forums within a specific niche in google?
I am eyeing keywords and noticing a lot of forums (0PR, 0PA, 20-35DA) with medicore keyword targeting and zero-few inbound links ranking above targeted (0-2PR, 20-30PA, 30-40DA) niche sites.
Briefly looking at on-page seo im seeing healthy ranges for the sites. Im also seeing relatively healthy looking anchor profiles as well. Even if the links are shit (some are some are not), I would still not expect forums with these metrics to be dominating them like this.
Anyone have experience with ranking against a lot of forums that aren't yahoo answers, webmd, etc but still very authoritative in their respected niche regardless of their low-mid range DA?
