Is there a site or software service that will find forum or blog posts on a subject?

If you only want to find specific post, there is nothing better than google. Just use keyword + "powered by phpbb" or hundreds of footprints that you can get to look for forums.

If you want to target more recent content you can select in google search tool to show you only last week results, so you can answer those fresh posts and get a nice backlink for your site

And there is a tool that has the same functionality known as Scrapebox, but it's designed or better suited for large scale work (I.e. when you want to find thousands of blogs and forums to build a link list).
