Forum commenting for SEO?

Basically, i was just wondering how good discussing your keyword in a forum is for SEO. Could anyone provide me with some tips/links/articles for posting in forums for SEO purposes?

It's one of the best ways. Especially if the forum has some PR and is related to your keywords (of course). Blog commenting and forum posting will get you a long way + you get targeted traffic also!

Forums are Ok for getting PR links. It's better if you target relevant forums, then you can also drive traffic if you write a useful, non-spammy comment.

I can confirm they help but if used with your real accounts. And they dont work that good if you make accounts just for link building. You need a real, account.

I agree and would like to add that you can also use links in signature spaces. This will also be helpful in increasing your online reputation.
