Forum category ID

Guys, i know that every forum has categories and every category has a
category id.
A lot of the forums show the category id in the url but some of them do not
show that.
How can i find out what is the category id even on forums that do not show
teh id number in the url?

If Topics are in the Category
Login/Register > Hover or click on the button to start a New Topic
in the Category/Forum and it's ID should be the last bits of the URL
e.g. &f=1
Otherwise just view the Page Source or inspect the Category with Firebug to find the ID.
