wondering what you found to be the best method for forum backlinks

basicly all i know is sign up to a forum edit profile and leave your site link. wanting to know more about this so i can get building some links

Only creating an forum profile and leave site url is not enough for forum backlinks. You have to be active on forums, participate at almost all discussion.

They don't. That's why spammy profiles are taken down by mods in few days and hence the link gets lost..

So if you create a forum profile, include your backlink in it and participate on discussions from time to time your backlink will stay alive?

Yes, this way the mods would know that you aren't a spammer and you are legit reader and poster. This way you can add an anchor text in your signature wit your URL.

Actually forum profile links offer is he will only make a forum profile for you and make ready to post. You will get some backlinks from there but they are not stable. If you want stable forum backlinks then you have to find out some good and active forum posters.

That is just buying backlinks, right. But I have heard that if you do your own link building then its better and buying links affects site's PR.

Yes, thats the real way of getting forum backlinks. So simple, isn't it? I am doing forum link building for approximately one year and got 5k links from 10 forums.

So what if you use anchor text centred around a specific keyword that you want related to your site, and then want to change that keyword anchor text to another keyword a few months later, does that mean all previous anchor text keywords are lost and ineffective? or do people just usually post the exact url on forums?

The big G is getting smarter every day. those were the days' when forum profiles was still part of those massive link building techniques, today forum profiles are of no value, just remember that share, ask and be known with the forums that you are involved in that way big G will see you as a better citizen in their game board.
