    Old thread...

This would be great for a PHP project I was working on. I know it can be done when I briefly looked into it. You would need a valid email account to signup with, a way to bypass the captcha and a way to scrape your email for the forum activation link.

If somebody has code (written in any language) that does this, I would love to see it.

Don't use PHP for this kind of job.
    Use python or buy Xrumer.

    PHP works slower, much slower.
In python you can use multithread or multiprocesses.
For parsing, posting and other web request tasks don't use PHP, use it for creating web sites or admin panel.

xrumer - most expensive but need to learn
sick - cheaper less learning involved
roboform - gets job done no learning - cheapest solution

    Not true.

Well-developed server-side php application with well-configured multi-threaded using c scripts running on high-performance, well-tuned web server will do the job much faster than desktop application, even python.

But, if you are ordinary programmer, python is best choice. Fast and clean.
Well if you are guru you can create good software on anything :D

I agree. (I'm the guru type)

You know, there are tradeoffs involved when developing the applications. If you want to deal with hundreds of thousands tasks at once with python, you'll need powerful big-assed server (think Mack truck) with huge blob of RAM and multi-proccessors to deal with the huge application, containing the inefficient code.

I'm more of a "Ferrari" type - Fast, lean and efficient. ;)
