Former pro athlete - starting fresh

Hey guys. Just retired from pro sports. Injuries ruined me. I'm 22, in good shape and I live in california.

I have a tendency to outwork people. I don't know a whole lot but I have a ton of ambition and I am a very fast learner :)

My goal is to make $5 million dollars this year.

Well, here goes nothing.

My first venture is a private label product that I am selling on amazon. I'm going to use amazon FBA. They're making it at a factory as we speak.

I signed up for a clickbank account. I'm going to promote one of the better selling diet products. I could buy advertising on google but I want to see if I can figure out a free way to drive traffic to my link.

haha. Kobe is making his comeback tomorrow. I'm from northern california though...go warriors!

I could care less if you guys believe me or not. Just wanted to introduce myself and figure out my first few steps. I've been watching a lot of frank kern videos on youtube. I think I'm going to start off with a simple fitness website for women and an build an email list.

I'm looking on google and it says that you can buy like 500k opt-in targeted email addresses for $100. If I get a .001 conversion I'd be making good money. This sounds a bit too good to be true and very scammy.

Any suggestions?
 
If there's one thing I learned from athletes, it's that they are crazy competitive and have crazy drive and ambition. There almost isn't a single drop of laziness in them.

I used the search tool and went though a lot of the threads about scraping or buying email lists and the consensus seems to be split?

Does anyone have some practical advice on how to profit from a huge, somewhat un-targeted list? I've learned a lot about writing sales letters from Frank Kern, I think I can write some pretty decent copy, but I just want to make sure I'm not totally wasting my time with bulkmailing.

If this was true, then right now I could go spend $100, and make $5000 even if I had no experience in IM. It is going to take much more work than this to become rich.

But you might as well give it a shot if your a beginner and $100 wouldn't be a huge loss for you.
 
Yeah I'm going to focus my efforts on email marketing. Gonna use double opt-in leads from a landing page, and pay for traffic to my landing page.

Might as well experiment with these purchased email lists. Or at least scrape them.

Ultimately I'm going to need to create my own product if I want to hit 5 million.

I like it how you're aiming big.

However, I'm near certain you will not make $5 million this year. You of all people know that you don't become a superstar overnight, you improve bit by bit, day by day - it is the same with your earnings online.

You may not reach the 5miliion (if you do that would be mor ethan impressive ) but at least you aimed for the stars so you may land on the moon!
 
Yeah I guess I am aiming big!

I just watched a video on landing pages. Bought a domain and hosting. Gonna make a simple landing page for my affiliate offer and seo the hell out of it! Also gonna collect emails for my list while I'm at it.

Youtube and this forum are awesome. You can just search and find out how to do anything.
 
A baseball often comes in handy in this business. You make sure you keep those old work tools near you.

Welcome to BHW by the way, hope you achieve your $5 million goals. Let us know how you do! Go look at the journeys section and see if you get inspired to start your own journey thread, I'd follow that for sure.

Appreciate the kind words. You guys all seem pretty cool. Good luck with all your stuff too.

I'm gonna start a journey thread. I'm going to work another 5 hours tonight and get started on my goal.

Hopefully I can inspire some people with what I can accomplish.
