Forex Bots, Do They Work ?

You gotta try and think about why the only people who ever claim to be making money from these things are always only a couple of posts in and are always so quick to try and prove themselves by showing you their stats pages.

you gotta understand that in a fluid market like forex, for every dollar made by someone, someone had to lose a dollar. so what happens if everyone start using these bots... everyone starts losing.
Instead if you really want to make money through forex, download some good info on both fundamental and technical trading techniques... then dedicate 3 months to studying them and back testing them (testing them through charts that have been made before, say yesterday's market), through all this work you'll grab a good understanding of the business, and soon you'll have your own system, which you can also make into a bot (using either macros, or actual programming). then you milk it as much as possible, and after its been burnt out dump it on cb to make more money!!! Hi, Your statement looks good. But I wonder why your broker didn't charge you the ticket fee? I find that they will make a small ticket charge of $10 for each order if the pips spread amount less than $10. Which broker you are playing with?
 
It's been said before, you gotta ask yourself if you can make money with your "system" why would you sell it to others?

I don't see any reason why a properly programmed bot wouldn't work. Really they are just a programmed set of entry and exit instructions for a trade, along with position size, the kind of decisions a trader has to make anyway. One of the biggest reasons 90% of traders fail to make money is they don't stick to their trading plan, they hesitate on entry, get out too early, or too late and are all over the place. A bot will make those decisions for you, whether they are the right decisions or not all depends on the programming, not the bot.

@ kljklj: not sure what you're referring to. MS is selling an OS not a money making system. If you claim to have a cash making system that generates money then go ahead and generate money USING your system rather than selling it as a product to others to make money from the sales.

Anybody trying to sell you a system has ulterior motives like: 1-system is too hard to actually implement 2-the time for the system has passed it worked before but now it's milked 3-system doesn't work at all and has failed before 4-system is too dangerous to actually use due to legal repercussions 5-it's easier to sell the system than to use it ...etc.

I agree you man. A well programmed bot can you money. There are looses but not more than wins.
 
Anyone who wants to make serious dough trading stocks hit me up. Forex robots are a losing game. that is for sure. as well as any other tradign robots whether it is a Futures/Equities/Forex robot it will blow up your account soon enough.
 
I don't get money from them but I can recommend NinjaTrader for those who are trying to automate FOREX trading....you can easily program and backtest your own trading system for free with this software....

Is NinjaTRADER LIKE MetaTrader 4?
 
Yes, it's a bit like MT4 but for me NinjaTrader is better - more usability, good interface,...
You can construct your trading strategies even without any programming skills in the strategy builder.

And by the way: I've heard about MetaTrader that this platform gives the broker very much insight on your trading strategy - with NT you haven't got this "problem"....

There are some bots that work...but for a limited period of time. markets are simply a reflection of how the population "investors" are feeling...
im not gonna lie to you, there are bots that work...and if you trade something like guppy during sydney opening times you will see bots painting patterns. However this is not what you refer to as "bot"...if you are interested on that google, black box trading...but in order to trade like that you need a LOT of money...the type of money that one individual RARELY has. Therefore, you wouldn't be asking that question.

Nonetheless, it is not impossible to be profitable at forex, just avoid those "course package" because none of those sellers has ever been profitable.

if you are really serious about learning how to trade it would cost you (in average) 1-2 years of your time and around 5000$....yes you are going to blow your account AT LEAST once...dont think that it wont happen to you...it happens to 99.999% of the people. actually i have been trading for the last 6 years and i have never met someone that has never blown their account at least once.
