Foreign domains for PBNs/Linkbuilding

Hi!
As far as I can see here most people here seem to use .com/.net/.org domains for pbns and linkbuilding, right?
I was just thinking... Is anyone here using any TLD's from local countries for pbn's / linkbuilding.
For instance, would you use .uk domains or .de domains for for targetting any other country?

Maybe this sounds a bit as a silly question, but still I'm curious about thoughts from other SEO's...
