Force Telegram to only send SMS

I am trying to use the bare-bone telegram client (Telegram API not Bot API) and try to get it to send verification codes as SMS (as I have an API to a service that recieves the messages).

Is there a way to get them to send the message as SMS only with some workaround (like for instance just removing Telegram from a device or something) and not as a chat inside Telegram?
