Forbidden and restricted hashtags on Instagram

I just came across a post, which contained these two images about forbidden hashtags and hashtags with restricted usage on Instagram. I believe these are fairly fresh and up to date.


What will happen when you use a restricted hashtag?
Instagram will display 30 results only. Hashtag restriction can be temporary.



What will happen when you use a forbidden hashtag?
Instagram will display the error page below. Banned hashtags stay banned for good usually.



Btw Instagram was 7 years old yesterday.

Interesting to note all these hashtag. I did commit some of the restricted hashtag mistakes. Thanks for alerting on this.

Definitely, there are some surprising hashtags on the restricted list, the forbidden list is not too surprising.

I can't even imagine how these made the restricted list: #asia, #brain, #citycentre, #desk, #edm, #elevator, #gloves, #instamood, #italiano, #kansas, #newyears, #newyearsday, #publicrelations, #stranger, #streetphoto, #thought, #valentinesday, #workflow

Another funny thing is words with more than one meaning: Let's say you're a handicraftsman or you're just happen to be in that niche and make/promote jugs. Being none the wiser, you use the restricted #jugs hashtag(, which is restricted more than likely because it's a synonym of tits).

Also why is the #balenciaga luxury brand on the restricted list? It's the only brand on the list, where are the others?!
