Hi Friends

Did any of you noticed this change?

when we search in google, from india, it takes us to google.co.in

In search result bottom, right hand side a link given to "google.com". So when you clicked that it usually display results from google.com.

But from last 4 days, i found that link is not working. If you click on that, then also it does not go to google.com and keep you in google.co.in.

Yeah, what you notice is correct. Its redirecting to google.co.in instead of going to google.com

Great info i'm excited to try this.

Are you high or what?!

It's not only for India but for every country. Just go to google.com/ncr and you will get a .com instead of a .in. NCR stands for no country redirect. Enjoy your old .com

You are right, there seems to be forced change on almost anything you do with TLD level on google. Regional redirection was forced a year back atleast for some of the ISPs in india and the language changes aka hindi searches are forced recently. If you want to go to top level domain, you can check http://google.com/ncr and also usse the firefox search addon called "google.com in english".

Thanks for the solution man.......
i was so worried but now m back to .com yuppieee... :)

OP you're right, and it means only one thing:

G is screwing itself now!

:D

yeah first with blogger and now with main SE,google is just overdosing personal experience

Well
I am seeing both 2 cases.

1. First I took google.co.in and then clicked the left down side link, Google.com and it perfectly when to google.com

No probs.

2. I googled a keyword in google.co.in and then I clicked the same link, but its redirecting to google.co.in only

Interesting!!!

Use Google chrome instead of Mozilla!
Eh? so you're saying that changing a browser is going to solve issue of IP level redirection? Sorry but that is not true at all. Even chrome requires addon for redirecting to english google if you want to do it from top search addon in chrome. JUst like firefox.

Noticed it yesterday. Firefox add-on always ".com" does the trick.

OP,

here is the solution >>
First, type http://www.google.com/ncr
and let the google.com site open

do not delete the google cookies... if they are deleted then only your home country specific google will be opened, so use the above .com/ncr link again, for the first time in that set, if you want to visit the various sites of google like .co.in, .co.uk, etc...

ok, so next,
on the same google.com url, you may type '.co.in' in place of '.com', and the Indian url will be displayed/opened... if you type '.co.uk' in the extension place (http://www.google.co.uk), that particular country specific Google will be opened...

try it!
:)

P.S.:
So,
#1. Use the google.com/ncr option first if you wish to open any other country-specific google site (like co.in, co.uk, etc).

#2. Then if you wish to open the google.co.uk site, simply type the google url with the country specific ex4ension (google.co.uk / google.co.in, etc), and you can easily open those sites.

#3. In between, if you delete google cookies, then begin with the google.com/ncr site. (See #1 above). Every thing will fall in place after this step.

Let G screw itself, or may be get screwed by the local governments for whatever cause. We still need to find the way and go ahead in spite of those obstacles.

Change your browser now..

Use Google chrome instead of Mozilla! :)

I will never use chrome. I have no interest to give all my hard work information to google so easily. Thats why i never used chrome, google toolbar, and previously i used google analytics and webmaster tool, but after January 21st, i removed my websites from these tools too.
